Genius.

Have any of you ever seen Kanye Wests film?
"RUNAWAY"  toys around with so many different ideas and aspects of life that I don't think anyone apart from Kanye himself will ever truly understand what it means. Interpret it and tell me what you think , I love listening to peoples insight on this. Kanye introduces and discusses themes of media, racism and religion in just a straight up weird ass way.

It seems to me that through the phoenix/sun/bird/girl Kanye sees and understands that the world destroys freedom, expression and difference and in essence realises the world is a bad place.

"Did you notice she is a bird?" "No I never noticed that"
Talk about social commentary. Classic.

  2. He displays images racism such as the scenes of the KKK in red hoods yet he is known for being racist himself. All of the servants at the dinner were white, for a specific reason; all of the dancers were white or Asian and came flurrying out at hie simple keystroke on the piano and danced for him in black leotards...there is more than meets the eye but it's not hidden completely if you pay attention. Let's also not forget his "attack" on Taylor Swift at the awards ceremony where he made a stand for Beyonce' over Taylor...

    1. I've never thought of Kanye as racist, not upfront anyway. Interesting insight. I assumed the consistent theme of black and white was to represent unity. Had his intention been that black is black and white is white as two separate things I'd have imagined he'd have all the black people wearing black suits and all the white wearing white, no? Or maybe the high key stroke and the black on white represents the conflict? Who knows.

  3. Yes, it is hard to determine the mind of another at times through elaborate, artistic works. Knowing some of his past instances and seeing the white women serving him as both servers and dancers, with no black women in positions of servitude was just a noticed "theme". I don't like inequality on either white or black sides but felt as if this particular expression was rather blatant in its blended message. Thanks for responding. I enjoy your blog due to the fact that it is very positive, helpful and not directed at yourself, for credit...admirable.

    1. I suppose so, maybe it's intended irony, using the KKK and then reversing the racism. I wonder why he's used red hoods instead of the original white though. Maybe it's another message, does the red represents blood the KKK have on their hands? Although that seems far too simple a message coming from a mind like Kanye's .Or perhaps you're right, maybe he's portraying white people as his servants as an act of bitterness or resentment?
      It's great hearing your thoughts.
+ Thank you! I'm glad you like it :)

  4. That's a very good point about the blood that the KKK have on their hands and that is very likely the intended message. Also it looked rather dark and demonic the way it was presented so it could be simply to make it appear as evil as the KKK really were/are.
Being from Alabama, U.S., I have been around some proponents of the group but never understood that kind of preferred hatred for anyone. One night, years ago, while riding around on a country road I accidentally turned into a driveway to turn around and in doing so pulled into a KKK meeting in process; I'm white and it scared me so bad that I couldn't get out of there quick enough. It was definitely a scary scene.
So I'm not sure what Kanye's intended message was but I do feel that in order to present an anti-racism message that leaving the KKK and presenting particular races as servants would have been much more clearly delivered and a much better message would have been sent. Anyway, thanks for responding. David
P.S. Are the pics on the blog pics of you or do you have pics of someone else on there? I'm just curious; I'll explain.

    1. It didn't occur to me that you live in an area where there are still KKK members. That's crazy, theres always a few who feel they need to carry on 'tradition', pretty disturbing. Are there reports of violence? Do they actually do anything or just gather together in common interest for the sake of it? Hard to comprehend.
+ yeah the pictures are of me, the ones I think you're referring too at least anyway, why?

  5. I haven't seen anything of the KKK recently except on TV at some rallies and protests. Hopefully they have been disbanded by now or maybe at least they may have matured and found better things to do with their time, rather than hate for a pastime.

Under the heading of "Fashion" is that you in the Indiana Hockey shirt and the one below it as well?

  6. Ahhhh, nono. Those aren't me, not sure about the first girl but the one underneath is a girl who's look books I've been following, Luanna P. The only ones of me are the ones under "lookbooks"

  7. Ok, I went back to "lookbooks" and saw the one that shows your face. Good lord, you are stunning. You have amazing hair, face, eyes, lips and everything. The reason for all the questions was because I assumed that those were pics of you. I didn't know about the other ones but I assumed that the lookbooks pics were you. Why do you think your nose is unattractive? You are amazingly pretty. Don't sweat the small stuff, you're hot. Anything that you don't like about yourself will probably change in the next five years anyway! How old are you?

  8. Well I am simply saying that you are freaking stunning and have absolutely no reason to think otherwise, "IF" that's what you thought. Now that that's out of the way, What's next for you after school, more school (college?) work?

  9. One other thing that I thought of. If you're still treated as an outsider at your school, it is painfully obvious to me why. You are one of 'those' girls. The kind that everyone assumes already knows how ridiculously hot she is, but she doesn't act like it (snobby attitude, etc.). Boys choke up and can't talk when they see you and girls want what you are. Some will resent you and some will not be able to talk around you without making (or at least feeling like they are) complete fools of themselves. Trust me girl, your day is coming. High School is NOTHING in life after you get away from it. The world will be chasing you and you have a lot of amazing times coming your way due to
    1) your looks (the first thing people see,,,it draws them in).
    2) Your personality and warmth for other people.
    3) Your genuine goodness and ability to be humble even when you don't have to be (such as on the internet).
You have an amazing life coming to you...the people around you now see that.
Just thought it was worth mentioning in case you didn't know.

    1. You're being incredibly kind, I'm just having a hard time accepting all these compliments but thank you anyway. I suppose what I meant by being an outsider was that no one really knows me, I just turned up and no questions were asked. I know what you mean by one of "those" girls, I've seen them in previous schools but I think you've got me mistaken. They tend to be 'under the radar' and sort of alone. and you could say I'm definitely not either. I can't really speak for the girls however the boys, have no problem telling me I'm ugly or "average at best". I suppose every school is different though. Oh and to answer your earlier question, I plan on going to college and studying another language(not sure which one yet), politics/law and maybe philosophy or biology, then go on to university I guess. Traveling the world is at the top of the list though - with what money, I don't know yet but I'll find a way. It's interesting though how you've analysed me and come to such a confident conclusion after reading a few blog posts. You've definitely brightened my mood the past few days. I owe you
